A Swiss-sub-Saharan Africa Business Development program to be held in Nairobi and Switzerland for young entrepreneurs

Are you an entrepreneur or a startup from a Sub-Saharan African innovation hub? The Swiss – Sub-Saharan business development program (SSABDP) is preparing a workshop for entrepreneurs or startups from Sub-Saharan African innovation hubs in the field of Mobile health, Pharmacometrics, Innovative Financing or Digital Humanities to join the program.

“Bring your science-based startup to next level! “Maximize the potential of your booming startup with a fast-track Afro-Swiss acceleration program” is the theme of the workshop.

The Swiss – Sub-Saharan business development program aims to boost the entrepreneurial know-how and exposure of Sub-Saharan graduate students and entrepreneurs seeking growth opportunities by offering a unique program bringing entrepreneurs to innovation hotspot in Nairobi and Switzerland.

This program will offer a highly competitive program for ambitious young entrepreneurs comprises 3-days workshop for advanced innovation entrepreneurs, and for the top eight candidates, a 4 days intense business development Venture Leaders program in the Swiss startup and business ecosystem.

Eligibility

The program is open to graduate students – entrepreneurs and startups from Sub-Saharan African innovation hubs, with a strong link to academia, developing products or services in the fields of mobile health, pharmacometrics, innovative financing, and digital humanities. The project must be based on a research or technology developed in your university or research institute.

Program for 3-days workshop in Nairobi
Day 1: Learn to deliver a unique customer value and define a striking business plan
Day 2: Shape a winning team and secure funding for growth
Day 3: Master a convincing pitch and individual coaching sessions. It will be an occasion to the jury to select eight candidates for a 4-days action packed entrepreneurial development week in Switzerland.

The benefits

All the programs are free of charge. For the Nairobi workshop, accommodation expenses are covered by the program.

For the Swiss week, flights, transport, and accommodation in Switzerland are also covered by the program.

Deadlines and selection:

The Deadline for application is on Oct 31st, 2018. The selection of participants will be on November 19th, 2018.

The Advanced entrepreneurs’ workshop in Nairobi will be held on December 10th to 12th 2018 and the Business development boot camp in Switzerland will be in Spring 2019 (dates to be confirmed)
