Ali BONGO ODIMBA, President of the Republic of Gabon in a state visit in Burundi

Presidents Pierre Nkurunziza and Ali BONGO ONDIMBA,

The President of Gabon, President of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), landed at the international airport of Bujumbura in an official visit to Burundi, as part of his tour which he started in the region, to discuss with his colleagues on the problems of the sub-region and what are the avenues for providing solutions.

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Gabon and President of ECCAS congratulated the Burundian Head of State for the security situation in the country, indicating that it is a country in peace that has recorded a positive evolution since his last visit. For the challenges that remain in the region, they are convinced that with the culture of listening and dialogue, Africans are able to overcome differences and move together towards development.

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Burundi welcoming his guest, appreciated the state of bilateral relations between Burundi and Gabon. “Your country has always been with Burundi even in the difficult times that the country has gone through, and Burundi is determined to strengthen this cooperation and capitalize on its achievements,” the Burundian President told his Gabonese counterpart. The Gabonese President ended his visit to Burundi in the evening of Friday, with a note of satisfaction, according to his statement to the press.
