As for the Intamba Mu Rugamba seniors, they played a return match against South Sudan, a
match for the fifth round of qualifying for the African Cup of Nations, the final of which will run in Cameroon in 2019.

The final result was five goals against two for Burundi. In this group made up of Burundi, Mali, Gabon, and South Sudan, Mali is already qualified and leads with eleven points and five goals. Burundi follows with nine points and six goals, Gabon remains in 3rd position with seven points and two goals, and finally, South Sudan which has no point with thirteen goals against.

The last qualifier will be known during the 6th and final day scheduled for March 2019 at Bujumbura, where Burundi will host Gabon. It will be either Burundi or Gabon.

It should be remembered that Burundi only needs a drawn match to qualify. A victory would be ideal and would qualify Burundi in the good position and while on the Gabonese side, it must imperatively win against Burundi to qualify.
