Burundi’s government retreat led by the Head of State: its main objective.

The head of the State of Burundi, Mr. Pierre Nkurunziza, presided, in a closed meeting , Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at the Hotel Songa Conference and Vacation Village, in the commune and province of Gitega (center of the country), the activities of the extended government retreat to general managers, assistants and permanent secretaries of the minister.

The Burundi government’s two days retreat took place from December 19, 2018, through December 20, 2018.

At the end of this retreat, the government spokesman, Mr. Prosper Ntahorwamiye, told the press that the objective was to evaluate the state of implementation of the recommendations of the previous retreats.

Mr. Ntahorwamiye reported that the two days’ activities took place in two stages, stating that, in the first instance, the two vice-presidents of the Republic each brought together the ministers under their jurisdiction; and secondly, there was a plenary session which was enhanced by the presence of the Head of State.

Finally, he announced the holding of a retreat reserved exclusively for members of the government, this Thursday, December 20, 2018.
