Ernesto Valverde has agreed with the signing of a new contract as Barcelona coach until the end of next season with the option for a further year 2019-2020.
Valverde, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the season, has led the side to 65 wins in his 96 matches in charge, drawing 22 and losing just nine.
The Club acknowledged that the signing of the contract with Valverde will take place this Friday, February 15 at Camp Nou, and a press conference will be held.

The Catalan Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu spoke highly of Valverde earlier in the week, insisting he would be in charge of the team next season regardless of whether they win any silverware.
Barcelona look well on track for a successful season this time around, sitting six points clear at the top of the table after 23 matches, while they are also in the semi-finals of the Copa and the Champions League last 16.
Valverde replaced Luis Enrique as manager in 2017 and guided Barcelona to the La Liga and Copa del Rey double in his first season in charge.
Ernesto Valverde records at Barcelona
Since his arrival, the figures of ‘The Ant’ are excellent. After a Liga and a Coupe du Roi won in his first season, he raised the Spanish Supercup in the current year.
In total, Valverde was on the bench of Barça during 96 matches. He won 68%, 65 wins, 22 draws and only 9 losses. Its 65 wins are divided between the Liga (43), the King’s Cup (11), the Champions League (10) and the Spanish Supercup (1).
He was close to losing none of the Liga 2017-18 games, but a loss to Levante put his record to a dead end. Recently, her team went on a crazy series of 37 days in which she scored until last weekend against Athletic.
Despite his impressive domestic record, Valverde has faced criticism from some sections of Barcelona’s support.
Earlier this season the former Valencia and Athletic Bilbao boss had admitted he did not know if he would remain at the Nou Camp for the 2019-20 campaign.
