Inter Star defeated and eliminated Buja City in a match played on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Prince Louis Rwagasore Stadium in Bujumbura.
The Burundi Football Federation (FFB) organized different matches played on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3, counting for the 8th of the finals of the Cup of the President of the Republic, edition 2019.
For Saturday, two matches were held in Bujumbura at Prince Louis Rwagasore stadium. The first, which was played at 1:30 pm, opposed Les Lierres to Lydia Ludic Burundi (LLB) ended in a score of three goals to zero in favor of LLB.
As for the second match between Buja City and Inter Star at 3:30 pm, Buja City dominated it but the latter ended in a loss after being defeated by Inter Star on a score of one goal to zero, a team that currently plays in the second division and is coached by his former player Aimé Nzohabonayo.
Another match was played at Umuco stadium in Muyinga (north) where Black Eagle from Makamba defeated Mwumba Light on an incredible score four goals to one.
In the center of the country, two matches were played at the Ingoma stadium in Gitega. In the first match at 1:30 pm between Moso Sugar and Rukinzo FC, the latter came out victorious, beating Rutana’s Moso Sugar by a goal to zero.
The same result from a goal to zero was recorded in the second game that was played at 15:30 when Messager Ngozi beat Flambeau of the center.
Sunday was sanctioned by three games. The Ngozi City and Top Junior teams met at Umuco stadium in Muyinga. The final score was from one goal to zero to the advantage of Ngozi City. Two matches were played at Gitega’s Ingoma stadium where at 1:30 pm; Kayanza United eliminated Messager Bujumbura on four-for-two kicks as both teams had a draw after a regulation time of the game.
The final match of these eighth Finals between two rival teams from Gitega namely Musongati FC and Flambeau du Centre. The score was two goals to zero to the advantage of Musongati FC.

Regarding the quarter-final program of the same cup, the date of which will be announced later, Musongati FC will meet Ngozi City as Black Aigle faces LLB. Messenger Ngozi will face Inter Star while Rukinzo FC will face Kayanza United.
The eight teams remaining in the race, only two are in the second division, namely Inter Star and Rukinzo FC.
