Scientists from the HRL Laboratories in California claim to have found a way to upload knowledge to the brain letting people learn instantly.

      the brain stimulation

      Overview:

Scientists from a Californian based Laboratory say that soon knowledge will be able to be uploaded straight into the human brain and will let human learn instantly. They believe this is brain stimulation developed through a study of the changes of the human brain when a person is learning. They believe that this strategy could be used to teach instantly people how to drive, or for preparing exams, or for learning languages.

The researchers claim that they have developed a simulator that can transfer information straight to the human brain and teach let the brain acquire new skills in a shorter amount of time.

Comparing to the sci-fi movie matrix where someone was able to learn martial arts in seconds, they believe that they are making the first steps in developing a software that can make instant learning a reality.

So how did they do that?

Reports state that they studied the electric signals in the human brain of a trained pilot and then input data in novice subjects while learning how to fly a plane in a realistic simulator.

In addition, the study found that subjects that received brain stimulation through electrode-embedded caps improved  33 % of their piloting abilities.

According to a neurological surgeon, Dr. Matthew Philips engaged in this research, the system is on f its kind, he explains and adds that its a brain stimulator.

He explained that although it sounds a bit unrealistic and ideal, he added that there is a large scientific basis for the development of that system.

“The specific task we were looking at was piloting an aircraft, which requires a synergy of both cognitive and motor performance”, he added.

He explained that when you learn something, the brain changes is physical form and connections are made and strengthened in a process called “Neuro-plasticity.”

“It turns out that certain functions of the brain, like speech and memory, are located in very specific regions of the brain, about the size of your pinky finger,” he added.

Here are some of the reasons why it can be important according to Dr. Mathew

He believes that this stimulation can help people learn how to drive, for exam preparation and learning languages.

Lastly, he explains that the system they want to develop targets the changes made in those specific areas of the brain as a person learns.
