The most used mobile money service provider in Kenya M-Pesa from one of East Africas telecommunication giant Safaricom is now reported to be in 200 countries around the world.
M-pesa works with Western Union, also one of the most used money transfer agent and M-Pesa is reported to be operating in over 500.000 agents of Western Union. With this success, M-Pesa has launched its global service which Safaricom assures that people will be able to find payout points all over the world in 130 currencies.
Safaricom has made its mobile money service to the globe, with the Mpesa services in 200 countries we can imagine how much this will help customers especially those in Kenya, purchase, transfer or get money through Safaricom’s mobile money agent M-Pesa.
It will enable customers all over the world to send and receive money through the 500.000 western union agents across the world. Mpesa has ventures will various platforms to ease payments for customers, other ventures include Google, where customers can now pay for apps through M-Pesa in the Google Play Store App.
According to Safaricom, the transaction can also be made through bank accounts in far countries like the United Kingdom, Germany, and the UAE and looking forward to doing so in other countries.
Currently, the service reportedly processes 14 million transactions every day and is used by over 21 million customers every day.
Counting the success that Mpesa has experienced, Safaricom has launched its global platform to avail the Kenyan market more to the rest of the world and the world to Kenyans.
The chief customer officer at Safaricom says that M-Pesa is one of Kenya’s best export, “When we look at the success over the years and going by the many awards received internationally, we can say that M-Pesa is one of Kenya’s best exports,” she said at the launch of the new service.
In addition, Safaricom assures that, entrepreneurs and individuals will now be able to access goods anywhere in the world with certainty that they will be able to find payout points around the globe in 130 currencies.
“This new service brings the convenience, safety, and speed of M-Pesa to the rest of the world and will enable Kenyans to send and receive money across the world from the comfort of their mobile phones. M-Pesa Global seeks to connect Kenyans to opportunities by making it easy and seamless for them to transact with the world and for the world to transact with Kenyans, ” Sitoyo Lopokoiyit, Safaricom’s chief financial services officer says.
The global service from Safaricom’s M-PESA will surely benefit people all over the world, with ventures and partnerships with the most used platforms, people will now have access to the whole world on their screens.
