Tanzania expels Burundians living in the country illegally.

Burundians living in Tanzania have been expelled over the accusations of illegally living and owning property in Tanzania.

Burundian citizens living in Tanzania illegally have been expelled from Tanzania, one man along with one woman and 10 children are reportedly at the commune office in RUyigi. The expelled arrived at the office of the head of the province today, Friday 16th November 2018. The man-aged 57 years old, stated that the expulsion began on the 12th of November and also added that meanwhile as they were being expelled Rwandese living in the same conditions in Tanzania were not touched because they accepted to give each an amount of 1,000,000 Tanzanian shillings. He also stated that they left all their belongings behind.

 

Tanzania has expelled Burundians living illegally in Tanzania, this Friday, one person by the name of Joseph Baranzira, along with 1 woman and 10 children are reportedly at the bureau commune of the province of Ruyigi.

The correspondent states that they have been expelled from Tanzania on accusations of illegally living and owning property in that country.

They added that the expulsion began on Monday this week on the 12th of November. Other refugees arrived at the border expelled from Tanzania and with them, another woman who had gone to Tanzania in September after she lost her husband, she said.

One of the expelled, Mr. Baranzira, who had already married a Tanzanian woman said that he had been living in Tanzania for over 20 years illegally and he noted that, while they were being expelled their Rwandese friends were not touched because they accepted to pay an amount of 1,000,000 Tanzanian Shillings each.

Mr. Baranzira, who is aged 57 years stated that he arrived at the border of Gahomba, of Burundi and Tanzania on Thursday, on board of a Tanzania vehicle with the one woman and 10 children and stated that they left all their belongings behind.
