The Council of Ministers’ meeting at Gitega: Seven points on the agenda.

The Burundian head of state, Pierre Nkurunziza presided, on December 21, 2018, a Council of Ministers at the presidential palace of Gitega (center of the country), and seven items were on the agenda.


Two first items were presented by the Minister of the Interior, Patriotic Training and Local Development concern the draft law to revise Law No. 1/02 of March 3, 2016, on the reform of the communal taxation in Burundi and the bill fixing the political capital of Burundi.

The third point was presented by the Minister of Finance, Budget and Development Cooperation concerns the draft law revising Law No. 1/24 of 10 September 2008 on the Investment Code in Burundi. 

The fourth and fifth points presented by the Minister of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS are related to the draft law establishing the national order of bio-medical technologies of Burundi (ONATEBU) and the draft decree establishing, organizing and operating the order of nurses and midwives of Burundi (ONISAF).

The sixth point was presented by the Minister of Transport, Public Works, Equipment and Spatial Planning, it relates to the note on the problem of road maintenance and the last point is related to the draft law prohibiting the planting of eucalyptus and other species which consume a lot of water in the perimeters of water sources, shallows, and swamps, it has been presented by the Minister of the Environment, Agriculture and Livestock.
